The award winning range of savoury pies at Hopetoun Farm Shop, near South Queensferry, is expanding in celebration of British Pie Week (7th-13th March) with the official launch of two new flavoured pies – Lamb Curry Pie & Macaroni Pie.
The individual lamb curry pies are made by hand in-store using minced lamb from sheep on the Hopetoun Estate with a special blend of curry spices. The new macaroni pies, developed by the Hopetoun Farm Shop team, are also made from scratch and baked fresh in store.
The extended range now includes beef scotch pies, mince rounds, bridies, beef sausage rolls plus five different sizes of their award winning steak pie, all cooked in store using Aberdeen Angus from the Estate plus the butcher’s secret mix of seasonings and gravy.
Camille Craig, Marketing Manager at Hopetoun Farm Shop said: “The initial launch of our pie range in 2014 was inspired by a visit from TV Celebrity Chef Paul Hollywood when we featured on his BBC series Pies and Puds and now celebrating the pie range’s 2nd birthday we have been overwhelmed by the popularity of our savoury delights.”
On average Hopetoun Farm Shop sells up to 400 steak pies per month with the family sized ¾ lb pie its most popular seller.
Camille continues: “As with all our Hopetoun own products, the recipes for our new macaroni pie and lamb curry pie have both been thoroughly tested by both staff and customers to ensure we achieve the best taste possible. We don’t think anyone be disappointed with these new additions!”
Available in-store at Hopetoun Farm Shop from 7th March, the macaroni pie and lamb curry pie each cost £1.20.
As part of British Pie Week Hopetoun Farm Shop will also be hosting an in-store free pie tasting on 12th and 13th march, from 12pm – 4pm.
